Amazon named most satisfying e-commerce website again

Amazon remains the world’s most satisfying shopping website, according to a new study.

The ForeSee Holiday E-Retail Satisfaction Index, which measures customer satisfaction regarding a number of a website’s features, has now ranked Amazon as the top e-commerce website for eight years in a row.

Customers remained particularly thrilled with the functionality of the website and the huge range of products on offer. Any business running an internet merchant account could certainly benefit from taking a leaf out of the Amazon book.

In an interview with reuters.com, Foresee chief executive Larry Freed was keen to point out the importance of retail websites retaining fantastic customer satisfaction.

He said: “The importance of satisfying them and giving a great consumer experience is going to pay back huge dividends in terms of profitability for these retailers. They’ve [Amazon] really done a great job in setting the standard for everybody else.”

In ForeSee’s index, 80 is considered a strong score. Apple and LLbean.com were amongst the retailers to register a score of 80 or higher.

With a score of 88, it may be no surprise to hear that Amazon continues to be making huge profits. Gizmodo.com reports that the website was selling 306 items per second as its peak during the holiday season.
