Payment Gateway wins Bermuda Government’s Technology Innovation Award 2012 in the category of Innovation of the Year – International Focus
First Atlantic Commerce (FAC), a global online payment solutions provider, won the Bermuda Government’s Department of Ecommerce TechTime 2012 Technology Award for Innovation of the Year, International Market Focus, last week.
According to TechTime, the award criteria included: “A truly innovative technology solution that is commercially in use in Bermuda. The solutions should utilize Bermuda-based infrastructure and/or resources. They should be a true “showcase” piece for the Island.”
FAC won the category for adding products to its platform that allow merchants to lower PCI-DSS costs, protect data and improve overall transaction security. New products include a hosted payment page and tokenization, which help to secure card data, simplify repeat purchases, streamline transaction processing and increase customer conversion.
The award was presented to FAC along with the winners of other categories at the Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute on November 29, 2012 following a cocktail reception.
Other categories for TechAwards 2012 included Best Interactive Experience, Best Business Solution Using Technology, Best Local E-commerce Website, Best Local Mobile Application, Most Inspiring Technology Teacher, Most Innovative Youth Project, and Innovation of the Year – Local Market Focus.
Now in its sixth year, the TechAwards are held to publicly recognize the outstanding achievements in Bermuda’s information technology industry.
“We are honored to receive this award as recognition of our innovative activities in the payment space,” said Tricia Lines Hill, SVP of Business Development & Marketing.
